Baby Shower for Michelle Donahue
What a wonderful baby shower we had for Michelle Donahue on Saturday, July 25, 2015! Jennifer Estabrook planned the shower and did a lovely job. Gertrude Stanley helped in many ways. The fellowship hall was decorated in cheery orange hues.
A lot of Michelle’s family came to the shower and supported her. A number of church ladies and children came as well. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and celebration with Michelle.
Kathi Banholzer gave a compassionate devotional, encouraging Michelle to keep on doing what she has been doing as a mother: guiding their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and training them in character and in the Word of God, listening to and talking with them, and giving them love. Kathi gave a clear explanation of the Gospel, emphasizing that is the most important place for a mother to start: having faith in Jesus Christ alone for our eternal salvation and for His grace each day.
Many ladies brought delicious food and we played two cute games. Jennifer’s mom made some peach colored, peppermint scented play doh. Each lady and girl at the shower made a little baby out of play doh, and then put the baby on a piece of paper with her name on the back of the paper. Michelle then chose her favorite “play doh baby”.
Michelle received many special gifts, but a favorite was the picture of a tree made by Darrell and Jennifer Estabrook, on which each attendant at the shower placed their fingerprint for the leaves. The Bible verse and the personalized tree made the gift a definite “winner”.
