Ladies' Dove Fellowship
International Supper
March 11, 2023
The International Banquet Dove Fellowship was held on Saturday, April 11, at 4:30 in the fellowship hall. Carmen Castro, Merline Jaganathan, and Janice MacAvoy did a wonderful job planning all kinds of creative fun for us. The evening started off with Merline leading us in a game of 7UP. Allison Estabrook took the winning prize for the game.
Janice led in prayer asking us to consider if we could ever considering becoming a missionary. There were 33 ladies and girls present.
The food was delicious with a wide variety of international dishes as well a desserts for us to enjoy.
Grace Silos gave a devotion on can we be missionaries at home? She led us through Hebrews 11:8 how Abraham (1) obeyed God by leaving his home country and all he knew to go to a place he had never been, where he would not be in control of anything, and had to totally trust God who is in complete control. Are we living for a different country, a heavenly home? (2) He was in a temporary home, a tent, giving up his own dreams in order to live for treasures in heaven instead of this earth. Hebrews 11:16 – My life is not my own. (3) Abraham lived his life by faith – but without faith, it is impossible to please God. We should be willing to give the gospel and trust God, and let God have our dreams. It was a great message for us to think about.
Merline had a show and tell about India and showed us some things (boats, water pots to hold drinking water, elephants, etc.) they do that are very different than the way we live.
We played an unscramble the countries game. Dani Mendonsa and Casey Jukkola were the winners. Another game had us identifying coffee makers from around the world. The last game had everyone scrambling around the fellowship hall to find various items. A good time was had by all.
Special thanks to Janice, Merline, and Carmen for all your hard work.
